Dundalk FC welcome league leaders St Patrick’s Athletic to Oriel Park on Easter Monday. Kick-Off is 5pm.
Stephen Kenny’s side went top of the Premier Division with a 4-1 win over Sligo Rovers on Friday night. Meanwhile, in Drumcondra, Dundalk recorded a fantastic 3-2 win over former
Champions Shelbourne.
With the first series of games now complete, Dundalk are in fourth place with just one defeat in nine games. That defeat, of course, was against St Pat’s in February at Richmond Park.

Ahead of the game, Dundalk goalkeeper Enda Minogue stated:
“In the first series of games, even when we went behind, we kept coming back. We’re a resilient team. We don’t accept losing and we fight for everything. You can see that with the late goals we’ve been getting. We just need to stay focused, but every game we go into, we want to be on the front foot and take teams on.”
Manager Ciaran Kilduff said:
“We welcome St Patrick’s Athletic to Oriel Park on Monday and we’re hoping for a big crowd, especially on the back of the huge win up in Tolka Park. They’re the only team to have beaten us in the first round of games and we felt we didn’t make as good an account of ourselves that night as
we wanted to, so hopefully we can put that right on Monday.
Team wise, we have the returning Aodh Dervin but one or two of the lads have picked up knocks since, so we might be a little bit light ourselves. But whatever we have on the pitch and on the bench, we’ll be ready to go.
It will be a really tough game for the group, but we should be full of confidence. Hopefully the crowd can get behind us and make it a big evening for everyone, the Easter Monday games are always big fixtures in the diary and this is no different. They’re top of the table now and, as I said, the only team to beat us so far, so we’ll be giving everything to make sure we get a positive result
on the night.”
